Cancer or neoplasm is one of the most feared diseases of all time, afflicting people from different age brackets and races. In simple terms, cancer is an abnormal tissue growth and can either be benign or malignant. Malignant cancers are more dangerous as they tend to invade healthy tissues and convert them into cancerous ones; this is referred to as Cancer metastasis. There are several factors that may trigger Cancer cells to activate and mutate such as age, genetics, diet, and lifestyle. There are many types of cancer. The most common ones are prostate Cancer as for the males, and breast Cancer for the females. Lung and colon Cancer are also common. On the other hand, there are also rare cancers, and one of these is the benign multicystic mesothelioma or asbestos Cancer mesothelioma.

Asbestos cancer mesothelioma is a rare type of cancer in the mesothelioma.. The mesothelioma. is a protective tissue layer that protects abdominal internal organs as well as the heart and lungs from rubbing off to other tissues or organs in the body. The only known main cause of this type of cancer is asbestos exposure. Asbestos is a harmful substance. If asbestos fibers are either inhaled or ingested, these can cause inflammation of the internal organs and therefore cause some alterations or mutations. This mutation is where the cancer begins. Workers working in shipyards, power plants, refineries, steel factories, and construction sites are the ones usually exposed to asbestos and are at high-risk for developing this type of cancer.

The early signs and symptoms of asbestos cancer mesothelioma are the following: shortness of breath, chest pain, persistent coughing, fatigue, unexplained weight loss, and night sweats or fever. However, these are the same signs and symptoms found in all other cancers, that's why diagnosis of using CT Scan, MRI, X-rays, and biopsy should be done to determine if it is this type of cancer. The treatment for asbestos cancer mesothelioma can either be through chemotherapy, radiation or surgery. Nevertheless, medical experts are testing newer treatments such as gene therapy and immunotherapy, but these techniques are not yet approved for use.
